Australian Volunteers International

AVI logoAustralian Volunteers International (AVI) sends skilled volunteers overseas to help reduce poverty and build the capacity of local organisations, including relief agencies, non-government organisations, hospitals, schools and governments. By connecting people and organisations internationally to learn from each other, AVI volunteers contribute to sustainable change in communities in Asia, the Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.

AVI in China has a strong education and human rights focus, with volunteer teachers and skilled professionals working on local projects with orphanages, schools and  local health programs. AVI volunteers support the modernisation of China by providing experience in English language, health, business, law, trade, environmental science, tourism and technology.

AVI has been at the forefront of international volunteering for more than 50 years, and we have provided over 7000 Australians with the opportunity to work with developing communities.

China Youth Development Foundation

The China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) was founded in March 1989 as a non-governmental and non-profit organisation. CYDF focuses upon education in rural areas, technical job-training programs, environmental protection and health. One of the largest and most successful programs is “Project Hope,” which raises funds to build schools in rural impoverished areas, encouraging children to return and complete an elementary school education. CYDF is a successful and wide-reaching organisation that assists many throughout China. Simply by assisting CYDF, many children’s lives can be touched and changed for a better, brighter future.
